Job Posting:
Customer Sales & Project Coordination Specialist
Florida Lighting | DeLand / Central Florida | Start ASAP | Part-Time to Full-Time Opportunity
Florida Lighting is hiring a customer-focused sales and project coordination professional to help manage customer communication, lead follow-up, quoting, project details, and customer satisfaction from first inquiry through final payment.
This position starts part-time ASAP, with a strong possibility of becoming full-time within 90–120 days based on performance, business volume, and fit.
This is not a generic office job. This person will help move customers through our sales and project process, ensure quotes are clean and accurate, communicate clearly with customers, and help close business while protecting the company's quality and reputation.
What This Role Owns
This person is responsible for the customer-facing side of the business.
You will help manage the customer journey from:
First inquiry → customer communication → consultation → quote → contract → project updates → payment → review/closeout
The goal is simple: Close business cleanly.
That means selling the right work, setting clear expectations, keeping the customer informed, keeping our internal system up to date, and ensuring the installation team receives a clean, accurate scope of work.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
-
Responding to customer calls, texts, emails, and inquiries.
-
Following up with leads and open quotes.
-
Helping customers understand lighting options and project possibilities.
-
Asking good discovery questions to understand what the customer wants.
-
Scheduling consultations and project-related communication.
-
Preparing and organizing quotes, contracts, and project details.
-
Keeping the CRM updated accurately and consistently.
-
Communicating customer needs clearly to the operations/install side.
-
Helping identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities when appropriate.
-
Requesting reviews and helping maintain strong customer satisfaction.
-
Tracking customer progress from inquiry through final payment.
-
Following company workflows, scripts, decision trees, and policies.
-
Helping prevent unclear scopes, missed details, and avoidable project issues.
This person must be comfortable with repeated customer communication and follow-up. A major part of the job is making sure customers do not fall through the cracks.
What This Role Is Not
This is not an installation labor position.
You may need to understand basic lighting systems, products, and common customer issues, but you are not expected to dig trenches, pull wire, climb through shrubs, or perform technical installation work.
You will need to understand enough about the product and process to sell accurately and avoid promising work that cannot reasonably be installed.
Required Experience
Applicants must have:
-
Minimum 4 years of customer service experience
-
Strong phone, text, and email communication skills
-
Ability to stay organized across multiple customers and follow-ups
-
Comfort using CRM systems, apps, spreadsheets, or customer management software

-

-

-

-
Professional attitude and strong follow-through
Preferred Experience
Additional experience is preferred but not required:
-
Sales experience, especially in home services, construction, design, landscaping, lighting, real estate, remodeling, or similar industries
-
Experience preparing quotes, estimates, proposals, or contracts
-
Experience with CRM software or project management systems
